AAOOC Scholarships 2008

The Arts Association of Oldham County is excited to announce its full partnership with Oldham County Dollars for Scholars. In order to apply for this scholarship in arts, you must:

• Print, and then complete the Dollars for Scholars Application. A new application is posted every January at www.ocdfs.org.
• Mail it, with a copy of your AAOOC essay, to Dollars for Scholars PO Box 381, Buckner, KY 40014 no later than March 1.  
• Compile a portfolio of your art work
• Mail the portfolio and a completed portfolio cover sheet, and a copy of your AAOOC essay to the AAOOC office for judging no later than March 1.

The Oldham County Arts Scholarship is given to a graduating senior who plans to attend a two or four year college or university, apprenticeship or a vocational school in the arts.

We consider the arts to include but not limited to:

Visual Art to include but not limited to:

sculpture, painting, drawing, glass work,

Performance Art to include but not limited to:

acting, written or performed music to include musical theater and voice, dance, choreography

Creative Writing to include but not limited to:

journalism, poetry, essays, literature

Photography

Graphic Design

Interior Design

If you have any question as to what is included in this “art” category, please call for an explanation, or fill out the application and we will make the determination.

A portfolio can be a DVD or CD of performances, a traditional portfolio of visual art or photography, or a compilation of writings. If you have questions, call for advice and help with the portfolio.
